"We worked with Respyrénées to walk the GR10 over 3 years. Hendaye to Etsaut in 2018, Etsaut to Luchon in 2019 and Luchon to Bagnuls-sur-mer in 2020. Yes we did the final month of the GR10 with all the problems of Covid-19 !!!!.. Each year we worked mainly with Gaëtan to build a schedule to meet our capabilities and preferences. We also worked well with Lucie on issues along the way. Each time we ended up with a schedule that met our needs with limited but key changes from the standard programmes. Respyrénées listened carefully to our thoughts and suggested alterations where necessary. They were good at making strong cases for alternatives using their experience. After agreeing the schedule it was always well implemented. When you arrange to meet a taxi at a remote road-head without mobile coverage you want to be sure that it arrives! We always felt we came out with a good outcome combining our thoughts based on guidebooks with the reality of local knowledge based on experience. This final year was particularly challenging with the Covid-19 situations in France and the UK impacting on the travel and walking arrangements. Overall we really enjoyed working with the Respyrénées team and had a fantastic experience. We are very sad to come to the end of the GR10 - we enjoyed the journey so much!"

"Basque Country: Pamplona to Hendaye (10 days) From the outset, we were very impressed with Mathieu when he promptly agreed that we could take a 15-month infant on our hike at no additional cost, and then our delight with the organization just kept getting better. Mathieu even offered us the loan of a cot for the baby and agreed to move it between places of accommodation. We were particularly impressed that Respyrenees customized a trek for us. Originally, we were just going to walk Basque Country: Mountains to ocean but then we asked him about arranging for us to hike from Pamplona into St Jean Pied de Port before the main hike. This is not a part of their usual hikes but it was great and I would strongly recommend Respyrenees make it a regular offering. We were a little worried about language difficulties and time differences (we live in Australia) but all of the responses from Mathieu and Gaëtan were prompt and very helpful. We received extensive and good quality topographical maps with the route marked and hiking notes at the commencement of the hike in Pamplona. The hotels were very comfortable and welcoming and the meals very substantial and delicious. All of the luggage transfers were successful with no issues; Mathieu and Chloe even providing a baby car seat for a transfer, as a late request. On a couple of occasions during the hike we contacted Respyrenees with queries and they promptly responded which was very reassuring. The hike was through beautiful countryside with spectacular and diverse scenery and quaint villages. There were dense forests and open fields with plenty of wildlife such as sheep, cows, goats and horses, many wearing bells – something for everyone. "

"We have been using Mathieu for some years now (before Respyrenees) and he has always been able to arrange the walking we have wanted. We have included variants from traditional routes some years which have been easily accommodated. Sometimes things go a little awry not through Mathieu’s doing eg leaving clothing at an overnight stop or injuries. These problems have been resolved with the minimum of fuss which is the real test of any business "

We just spent two amazing weeks on the GR 10 (from Hendaye to Etsaut). Mathieu and Chloe were so attentive to our every need and always there to help out. This vacation was good value, and believe me, I shopped around. The accommodation was great and we loved the warm greeting we received from the hoteliers/refuge owners. We enjoyed delicious dinners, family-style, with hikers from all over the world. Mathieu helped us with an alternate route for day 3 (I have vertigo problems) and we liked the way Respyrenees planned each hiking day. We highly recommend Respyreness for vacations, and will definitely be booking with them again.

Our team (a crowd of 7, including two girls of 13 and 15 years) made Section 3 of GR10 (from Etsaut to Cauterets). We totally fell in love with GR10! It led us through small picturesque villages and amazing mountain landscapes. And after an exciting day of hiking another amazing thing was waiting for us - delicious dinner and tasty wine at the cozy restaurant or on the terrace with a mountain view. we really liked the hosts - particularly those chambres d'hotes - they were really welcoming. the accomodation at the relais des marionnettes was very basic but the food and hospitality were excellent. bags all arrived on time and the dinner each evening was lovely

"All the accommodation was very good. People were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We particularly liked Hotel Manechenia. The food at was excellent, especially at Hotel Ur Hegian in Dancharia. Great walking varied scenery and pretty villages. We did a couple of sections in one day which was very good as it offered us longer days walking. This is a really magnificent stage of the GR10, the scenery is spectacular."
